Morris / Brad EOT Cranes are manufactured conforming to the latest IS standards for Electric over head Travelling cranes, ie. IS : 3177 (latest revision).

Girder designs are perfected using the latest advanced Autocad design software backed by the long experience and expertise. The Girders are carefully fabricated using fresh tested steel plates to IS : 2062 Gr. A or B obtained directly from the Main steel producers, cut to size using the latest CNC profile cutting machines and welded using modern welding practices. All welds in tension are subjected to radiography to ensure defect free welds.

Hoisting mechanism comprises of our standared Morris / Brad wire rope / chain hoist for Single girder cranes and speically made Crab units for the Double girder cranes. The hoisting mechanism in finely engineered for smooth, jerk free lifting of loads. Hoist drives are generally crane duty squirrel cage or slip ring motors, selected according to the class of duty, driving the rope drum through helical gearboxes. The rope drums are made out of seamless pipes fabricated from plates tested as per ASTM / IS standards.

Gear Boxes are of our own make, generally with helical gears, oil lubricated, manufactured using the latest Gear cutting machines, duly heat treated to withstand stringent load conditions. The greaboxes are selected according to the class of duty commensurate with the type of application.

End Carriages with standard wheel bases are fabricated using the latest welding and machining techniques to ensure a jerk free and smooth travel motion The wheels are double flanged, supported on self-aligning Anti-friction bearings. Buffers are provided at the ends of the carriages as per the IS standards.

Brakes for all the drives are generally AC Electro-hydraulic Thrustor brakes or Electro-magnetic Shoe/disc type brakes according to the application or client requirements.

Hooks are of either shank of Ramshorn type supported on anti-friction thrust bearings and the sheave pulleys are made of malleable cast iron or fabricated, conforming to IS 3815.

Controls : The cranes can be controlled either by pendant/cabin/radio remote or combination of any of these. The main electrical components are housed in a sheet steel enclosure conveniently located for easy maintainance. Standard protection devices includes, overload protection, short circuit protection etc.

Special Features : In tune with the exact application needs or the latest crane technology, Morris/Brad carnes can be offered with the following optional special features ;
  • Variable speed VVVF drives for hoist, LT and Ct.
  • Creep speed for hoist, LT and CT.
  • DC brakes.
  • Higher Class of duties like class III / IV (M7 / M8)
  • Anti-Collision devices.
  • Low head room cranes.
  • Flameproof type cranes for explosive atmosphere.

Testing
All Morris/Brad cranes are tested as per the standard Quality plan including the proof load and overload tests at 125% of rated load as per the relevant IS standards.
